Melissa attended Auburn University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She minored in both Business and Asian Studies spending a summer semester in Beijing and another in Shanghai. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the Florida State University and was inducted into The Order of the Coif upon graduation.
Social/Volunteer Organizations
Melissa is the chair of the mentorship committee of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Women in the Law section. The Women's section seeks to engage and support female defense attorneys in Alabama. She is also a member of the Birmingham Bar Association.
The mission of the Professional Liability Defense Federation is to enhance the stature and effectiveness of professional liability defense professionals through education, training and the exchange of information.
