Matt Pietsch focuses his practice on complex litigation involving professional liability defense, insurance coverage, civil rights, and regulatory actions in state and federal court. He is frequently called upon to provide counsel to insurance carriers, not for profit entities including religious organizations and schools on a wide range of issues including employment, regulatory compliance and crisis management. Matt graduated in 2001 from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He earned his law degree in 2004 from the University of Miami School of Law where he graduated with honors and was a member of the International and Comparative Law Review and the International Moot Court Board. He is also a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial College at Stanford University and the Department of Justice DOJ National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina. He has received an AV Preeminent® rating for ethical standards and legal ability from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named a Mid-South Rising Star by Super Lawyers®. In 2018, Matt was awarded the Best of the Bar Award by the Nashville Business Journal for his work in the area of international law.
